This autumn we are celebrating the launch of our new hallmark with a display in Birmingham’s Assay Office.

The display will showcase our collections to demonstrate how we have evolved as a social enterprise as well as highlighting our links with Birmingham’s centre of jewellery making.

Birmingham’s historic Jewellery Quarter has played an important role in the production of Shelanu’s jewellery ranges and has also provided a wealth of inspiration since the Collective began in 2010. The latest collection, Interlocking Stories was developed at the end of 2017 with support from contemporary jeweller Charlotte Valkeniers. Cast in the Jewellery Quarter, the collection is a range of silver jewellery designed and finished by Shelanu members. It reflects the ethos of Shelanu; women coming together to learn new skills, collaborating and supporting each other in a safe space.

Also on display are the enamelled Migrating Birds collection, a commissioned laser cut range for the Herbert Art Gallery and Museum in Coventry, and Shelanu’s Birmingham souvenir pieces.
